Nicole is a Registered Psychologists with experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. She received her MA and PhD in clinical developmental psychology from York University in Toronto. She has trained and worked in several paediatric teaching hospitals in Canada including the Hospital for Sick Children, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Nicole’s areas of practice include assessment and treatment of preschool and school-aged children, as well as adolescents with: anxiety and mood difficulties, health-related problems, parent-child relationship difficulties, externalizing and anger difficulties, attention problems (e.g. ADHD), and learning difficulties.
Nicole uses evidence-based approaches and techniques in both assessment and treatment. Her primary modality of treatment is cognitive-behavioural, although she incorporates attachment-based and relationship-focused interventions in her work. Nicole has an active and ongoing program of research at the University of Calgary studying infant mental health in contexts of risk.
