Rachel Jose is a Registered Psychologist who joined our team in 2017. Rachel’s background includes working at a formal Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) clinic with a wide array of clientele, children in a residential setting who were dealing with trauma, as well as working in a non-profit agency helping people with a range of issues.
Rachel works with a multitude of people and varying issues; she provides a special hand in the support and treatment for children and young adults with high-risk behaviours. She helps them implement and learn more healthy coping behaviours and strategies to deal with intense emotions. Rachel also deals with parents and how to help manage their children or teens in the area of emotion regulation. Rachel’s areas of knowledge extend to eating disorders, emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal skills, grief and loss, OCD, behavioural concerns, self-worth, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, and parenting.
Her previous experience is in individual psychotherapy, a facilitator in DBT skills group, as well as working with and teaching a parenting component.
Rachel has been formally trained in DBT and has experience with CBT and narrative therapy.
