Registered Psychologist

South Location

D

an is a Registered Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in both educational and clinical settings. His approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for the complexity of the human experience. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Dan works collaboratively with clients to better understand the patterns, thoughts, emotions, and life experiences that may be keeping them feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves and others.

Dan takes an individualized and practical approach to therapy. He believes that meaningful change often comes not from “fixing” a person, but from helping them better understand themselves, develop emotional awareness, strengthen resilience, and learn how to respond more effectively to life’s challenges. His work often focuses on helping clients move from “What if?” thinking toward “What can I do?”—developing a stronger sense of agency, emotional regulation, and direction in their lives.

Dan supports teens, adults, and families with concerns related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, stress, chronic overthinking, life transitions, school and work challenges, self-esteem, identity development, and questions surrounding meaning and purpose. He also has experience supporting individuals navigating chronic pain and health-related challenges, and has completed additional professional training related to chronic pain and POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).

A significant focus of Dan’s work involves helping clients understand the relationship between freedom, responsibility, and personal growth. Whether working with teens developing independence, adults navigating difficult transitions, or individuals struggling with anxiety and self-doubt, Dan emphasizes practical strategies, self-awareness, and the importance of making choices aligned with one’s values and long-term goals.

Dan often incorporates collaborative discussion, psychoeducation, visual models, and practical problem-solving strategies into sessions. He aims to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported while also being encouraged to develop insight, emotional resilience, and confidence in their ability to navigate life effectively.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD-related challenges, chronic stress, chronic pain, or simply feeling uncertain about direction and purpose in life, Dan provides a grounded and compassionate space to help clients better understand themselves and move toward meaningful and sustainable change.

Dan is currently accepting counselling clients at our South office.
